Premio Leonardo da Vinci 2018 in Amsterdam

From 1 to 3 June 2018 the Premio Leonardo da Vinci was awarded in Amsterdam.

Everybody will agree that Leonardo is the international symbol of inventing new technology, of beautiful art, of science and of a new period in human history.
The annual European Award “Leonardo da Vinci” was proposed as an idea by the Rotary Club of Firenze, Italy to Rotary Clubs Athinai (Hellas), Wien-Ring (Austria) and Tours (France). The first award took place in Firenze, in 1975. Today, 11 Rotary Clubs in Europe participate in this Award’s ceremony, which are:
Firenze, Athinai, Tours, Wien-Ring, Madrid, Bruxelles, Würzburg, London, Amsterdam, Dublin and Copenhagen.

The award is given to a promising, relatively young artist or scientist in the broad field in which Leonardo da Vinci created and worked.  Of course the weekend in which the giving of the Premio is organized, is also used for a good contact between the participants of the 11 countries.

In 2018 the Rotary Club of Amsterdam was the organizing partner and so the host for the guests from the other ten clubs. In the weekend of 1 to 3 June many activities took place around the giving of the Premio.
